The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Berhampur will host the National Conference on Recent Trends in Number Theory (NCRTNT) from 6th to 8th March 2026. The conference aims to bring together leading mathematicians, researchers, and young scholars from across the country to deliberate on contemporary developments and emerging directions in number theory.
Number theory, one of the most profound and classical branches of mathematics, continues to witness significant advancements with deep connections to algebra, analysis, and cryptography. The conference will serve as a vibrant academic platform for the exchange of ideas, presentation of current research, and fostering of collaborations within the mathematical community.
This special edition of NCRTNT is being organized in honour of R. Balasubramanian on the occasion of his 75th birthday, recognizing his outstanding contributions and lasting impact on number theory research in India and beyond.
The conference will feature invited lectures by distinguished speakers from premier institutes including IISERs, IITs, ISI, HRI, NISER, and other leading universities. The programme is designed to encourage meaningful academic interaction between established researchers and early-career mathematicians.Through this initiative, IISER Berhampur continues its commitment to promoting high-quality research and strengthening the national mathematical research network.
