Biography

Dr. Mallick obtained his B.Sc. in 2013 from Presidency College, University of Calcutta and M.Sc. in 2015 from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IITKGP) in Chemistry. He received his PhD in December, 2021 from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IITKGP) in the field of Electrochemistry. After completion of his PhD., he started working as a post-doctoral research associate in the Department of Chemical and Life Science Engineering, Virginia Commonwealth University, USA in 2022. During his postdoctoral research at VCU, he explored the field of “Slug-flow-derived Ni-rich cathodes for Li-ion batteries”, a collaborative project with Oak Ridge National Lab, USA and Ionblox Inc. (industrial partner). He was also involved in a collaborative project on “Silicon based anode for high performance Li-ion battery”. He has authored/co-authored several highly sited peer-reviewed journal publications, including first-authored, insightful review articles on the various electrochemical energy storage technologies. After returning from postdoc. he joined Battery Energy Storage System (BESS): Technology department of Adani New Industries Limited as the Associate Manager, and served there for seven months (Oct, 2025 – June, 2026). In this industrial role, he was actively involved in battery testing lab development, technology scouting and Adani BESS project commissioning at Khavda, Gujrat. He joined IISER Berhampur in July as the assistant professor in the Department of Chemical Sciences.
