Dr. H. S. S. Ramakrishna Matte is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Sciences, IISER Berhampur, Odisha. He obtained his M.Sc. in Chemical Sciences (2006-2009) and Ph.D. in Solid State & Materials Chemistry (2009-2013) from JNCASR, Bengaluru, under the supervision of Bharat Ratna Prof. C. N. R. Rao. He subsequently pursued postdoctoral research at Northwestern University, USA (2013-2015), as an IUSSTF Postdoctoral Fellow under the supervision of Profs. Mark Hersam and Tobin Marks, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Humboldt University, Berlin (2015-2016), under the supervision of Prof. Norbert Koch. Prior to joining IISER Berhampur, he served as a Scientist at the Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences (CeNS), Bengaluru, for nine years (2017–2026). Dr. Matte’s research focuses development and application of advanced materials, with particular emphasis on the processing of two-dimensional (2D) materials, thin-film coatings, and their applications in printed electronics, electrochemical energy storage, sensors, and organic photovoltaics (OPVs). He has extensive experience in industrial research, consultancy, and technology-oriented projects, with successful collaborations with leading organizations including Tata Steel Ltd., HPCL Ltd., ITC Ltd., GAIL (India) Ltd., Chem Process Ltd., and Soleil’s World Pvt. Ltd.
