Pre-Summit Symposium for the AI Impact Summit 2026 – IndiaAI Mission on “AI for National Impact: Teaching, Translation, and Research” on 5–6 February 2026.
Overview:
The symposium served as an important academic platform to deliberate on the conceptual foundations, interdisciplinary applications, and societal implications of Artificial Intelligence, with a focus on education, research, and national development. Faculty members, researchers, students, and industry professionals actively participated in the two-day academic programme.
The event featured thematic sessions on the conceptual foundations of AI, AI in industry, and AI applications in security, health, and climate, highlighting the growing relevance of AI across diverse sectors. Eminent speakers from academia and industry delivered insightful lectures, sharing perspectives on both theoretical advancements and practical implementations of AI technologies.
Special invited lectures were delivered by experts from reputed national and international institutions, including IISER Berhampur, IIT Bhubaneswar, industry research organizations, and universities abroad. These sessions provided participants with exposure to cutting-edge research, real-world case studies, and emerging challenges in the AI ecosystem.
A special student-focused session held on 5 February 2026 further encouraged student engagement, fostering dialogue on learning pathways, research opportunities, and career prospects in Artificial Intelligence.
The symposium concluded with an interactive discussion emphasizing the role of academic institutions in supporting the IndiaAI Mission and nurturing responsible, inclusive, and impactful AI research. The event reinforced IISER Berhampur’s commitment to contributing meaningfully to national initiatives in advanced science and technology.
