Upcoming India Space Lab: Winter Internship & Technical Training Program.

Overview:

The Government of India, under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has initiated transformative reforms in the space sector with the aim of strengthening space education, research, innovation and employment opportunities in the country.

In this direction, and in continuation of national initiatives and outreach programs such as India Space Week / National Space Day (August 2024) along with several technical training drives conducted across universities and departments, India Space Lab has announced its Winter Internship & Technical Training Program – 2025 for students and research scholars.

The institute community is encouraged to actively participate in this opportunity, which includes structured training and internship exposure in emerging space and allied technologies.

It may be noted that the Hon’ble Prime Minister also highlighted India’s inspiring space journey in his Mann Ki Baat (August 2024) address, appreciating the significance and contribution of India Space Week.


About the Winter Internship Program

The India Space Lab Winter Internship is open to:

  • Undergraduate students

  • Postgraduate students

  • Research scholars from recognized universities/institutions in India and abroad.

Participants will receive online training and practical exposure through sessions aligned with space applications and technology sectors such as:

  • Advanced Drone Technology

  • CanSat & CubeSat (Student Satellite)

  • Rocketry Training

  • Remote Sensing (GIS)

  • Disaster Management

Selection Method: First Come, First Served (FCFS)
Total Seats Available: 1045

Winter Internship Technical Training Sessions : 2 February 2026 to 18 February 2026

I) Advanced Drone Technology – Feb 2 to Feb 4 (3 Days)
II) CanSat & CubeSat Training – Feb 5 to Feb 7 (3 Days)
III) Rocketry Training – Feb 9 to Feb 11 (3 Days)
IV) Remote Sensing (GIS) Sessions – Feb 12 to Feb 14 (3 Days)
V) Disaster Management Sessions – Feb 16 to Feb 18 (3 Days)
VI) Project Work (Technology/Official Works) – Feb 19 to Mar 3
